The big name Trainers like Paul Nicholls, Willie Mullins and David Pipe all either have a great record through the season or in the National itself so should be watched very carefully. Paul Nicholls is perhaps the biggest name horse racing betting at the moment so his runners should always be considered, having said that he has yet to win the Grand National in his career. That is a surprising stat but at the same time he is due a win in the race and with Niche Market a potential runner in 2011 he could be ready to end the drought.

As always there will be a strong presence from ireland and perhaps the most important trainer to watch from across the Irish Sea will be Willie Mullins, he won the race with Hedgehunter in 2005 and always has one or two with a good chance in the field.

One family that have a good tradition in the Grand National is the Pipe Family, Martin Pipe won the race in 1994 with Miinnehoma while son David Pipe picked up the race with Comply Or Die in 2008. There is also a good history of Women Trainers in the race and one who is likely to have a runner or two in 2011 is Venetia Williams, she saddled Mon Mome to victory at 100/1 in 2009 and will be on the look out for another success.
