The Midnight Club has emerged as a genuine contender in the Grand National Betting last season following some excellent performances for trainer Willie Mullins. Mullins will be going for another win in the Grand National and The Midnight Club is the sort of horse that fits the profile of a potential National winner at Aintree. This comes off the back of his win in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse in 2011 and he now heads to Aintree as a potential favourite having been aimed towards the race for some time. That win in the Bobbyjo was impressive and he comfortably beat the likes of Arbor Supreme,  Vic Venturi and Oscar Time that day to stake his National claim.

Ruby Walsh has chosen to ride The Midnight Club in the National out all of the contenders from the Mullins and Paul Nicholls yards which is a ringing endorsement of his claims while he looks to have a decent weight of 10st 13lbs on his back. This means of course that he is a potential winner of the race but this will be his first try over the course and distance so punters will always have that nagging doubt about his chances which does add intrigue to The Midnight Club.
