How To Pick A Grand National Winner - Irish Horses

Irish Horses have a great record in the Grand National in recent years and it is always sensible to get one or two horses from across the Irish Sea on your shortlist, they always come into the race prepared well and well backed for a big run at Aintree in addition to the Irish Grand National. Many punters will specifically look for the Irish horses on the racecard when considering their bet and that would be sound advice for punters.

The Irish fans and connections love nothing more than invading Aintree on Grand National day and having a winner makes it that much more special, the Irish fans and punters do bring a great atmosphere and colour to the track and they will be out in force once again in 2013. There have been a fantastic eight Irish winners of the Grand National since the brilliant Bobbyjo won in 1999, it is a remarkable stat and one that could be improved on in in April.

In recent time in particular there have been some excellent Irish trained winners of the race, some of the stand out ones include Silver Birch in 2007 and Hedgehunter in 2005  who won for the Irish duo of Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh.
