How To Pick A Grand National Winner - Grey Horses
Another fun way to pick a horse to win the Grand National is to specifically pinpoint the grey horses in the field, grey horses are always popular at Aintree and many love to back the greys when making a bet. Greys do not have a great record in the race with only two winners in the 170-year history of the prestigious race, that will not stop the greys being well backed in 2012 with many casual punters drawn to the attractive coloured horses.
Backing a grey horse is known as the 'Housewives Bet' and it will continue to be a fun way to get involved with the Grand National, in recent times we had King Johns Castle who ran a blinder to finish second in 2008. We had another fantastic Grey horse in the 90's with Suny Bay somewhat of a Grand National legend, he never won the race but did come second in both 1997 and 1998 to the disappointment of punters across the country.
We will be keeping a close eye on the full list of runners for the 2012 Grand National and will be picking out the grey runners for punters to study before making a bet.
