It is well worth noting that at this stage Ballabriggs is unbeaten since 2009 with five consecutive wins to his name in that time, the highlight without a doubt was his fine win at the Cheltenham Festival last season. He won the Kim Muir Challenge Cup at the Festival and it was then that connections started to map out his route to Aintree this season. So far that route has been successful with two wins to his name so far in 2011 including last time out in a Novice Hurdle at Ayr to protect his rating ahead of the Grand National Weights being released.

Ballabriggs looks to have more than enough class to run well at Aintree although the fact that it will be his first spin over the fences is a negative for his backers when we get to the big race. The positives for him include the fact that he should get a decent weight on his back and at 10 is the perfect age for a big run in the Grand National making him one of the stand-out runners with an entry to the race at this stage.
